Haven Herbs was started as an online shop after the founder's brick and mortar shop closed in Columbus, Ohio (2017). That shop not only had house-brand handmade formulas for body care, remedies, and tonics- it also carried essential oils, homeopathy, bulk herbs, flower essences, and many other brands that were curated and vetted by Lily, the herbalist founder.

When Haven Herbs was opened as an e-commerce shop the following year, it started with just the house brand of herbal formulas Lily has created. Since 2018, we have grown from hometown herb store to shipping nationwide (far beyond its hyper-local Ohio origins). It is now time to expand further to serve you better.

We’ve reimagined the traditional general store for the challenges of 2025. In a world facing microplastics and climate uncertainty, we provide the practical tools you need to live a low-impact, high-health lifestyle. From the seeds you plant to the remedies you use and the way you clean your home, we’re here to help you live in harmony with the planet, not at its expense.

In 2025, Lily started looking for other brands to carry that supplement what she makes and what customers have asked for. She did a survey of customers to get feedback, and has started adding brands in earnest. All brands and products added meet our ethos of organic, ethical, pronounceable, and effective. All packaging is little to no plastic. 

Easy navigation:
You can search by product type ("I want a tea" or "Looking for a salve")
You can search by body system (cardiovascular support or respiratory support)
You can search for specialty populations (pregnancy, kids, menstruators)
You can search by function, too. (pain and inflammation, sleep help)

Here are some new things to check out:

Food as Medicine: let food be your medicine by eating high quality ingredients that are also medicinal.
Teas and Tisanes: In addition to wonderful Haven Herbs teas, we now have many lines of herbal brews AND black, green, and other Camillia sinensis teas. All looseleaf, because bags create waste and aren't as flavorful or potent.
