Let's be real for a second. Modern life loves to tell us that wellness comes in a plastic orange bottle with a childproof cap. But your ancestors didn't rush to a drive-thru every time they had a sniffle or a scratch. They went outside.
If you are tired of feeling completely disconnected from the dirt beneath your feet and want to take your health into your own two hands, it is time to stop scrolling and start growing. No, you do not need a massive homestead or a sprawling farm to make this happen. A sunny patio pot or a tiny backyard plot will do just fine.
Haven Herbs is launching Farmacy Fundamentals, an immersive, in-person, seven-month journey designed to completely transform how you look at the plant world. We are going from seeds in the ground to a fully stocked home apothecary, and we are doing it together.
The Breakdown: What You Will Actually Learn
We are not just sitting in a circle singing to weeds (although that sounds kinda fun and Lily may suggest it!). This is a hands-on, step-by-step masterclass that follows the actual rhythm of the seasons. Here is the game plan:
June through August: The Meet and Greet
As the garden grows, we dive deep into botanical care. You will learn how to identify your herbs, understand their actions, and look at the actual phytochemistry and energetics of what we plant. It is equal parts ancient art and modern science.
September and October: The Chop Shop
When the season turns, we focus on reaping what we sowed. You will learn how to harvest herbs at their peak potency so you do not waste your time. We will cover washing, drying, garbling, and storing plant material so it actually stays effective.
November and December: The Alchemy
This is where the magic happens. We take that processed harvest and turn it into potent remedies. You will learn the actual craft of medicine making, creating your own tinctures, salves, infused oils, and syrups to get you through the winter months.
Logistical Details for the Accountable Adult
Because we know you need to plan your life, here are the non-negotiable details:
When: The fourth Sunday of every month, from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This specific series runs from June through December 2026.
Where: Franciscan Earth Literacy Center, located at 194 St. Francis Avenue, Tiffin, OH 44883.
The Vibe: Space is strictly limited to 20 students. Why? Because we want an intimate, hands-on learning environment, not a chaotic lecture hall where you cannot see the plants.
Let's Talk Money (And Why It Is Not an Obstacle!)
If you want to commit to the full seasonal cycle, pre-registration is $250, which secures your spot for all seven classes and gets you a discounted rate. If you have commitment issues, the drop-in rate is $40 per class on a first-come, first-served basis (Once the slots are filled, there will be no drop-in students).
But listen closely: financial stress should never stand between you and your education. If the cost is a barrier, do not let that stop you.
