Most sunscreens are filled with endocrine disrupting chemicals that aren't actually effective against UVA *and* UVB anyway. The only safe suncreen is a mineral based one (we use zinc oxide) and the particles of the zinc oxide need to be at least 90 nanometers (nm) to be considered safe (otherwise known as "non-nano-particle"). Our zinc oxide is 150 nm, meaning it is safe for everyone in your family!

We make ours at 30 SPF, no fragrance or unecessary ingredients in a 4 oz glass pump bottle. Because we make natural products with no extra chemicals, we package in sizes to allow you to go through the formula in a reasonable amount of time. This bottle should last one person 3 months with daily use.

Ingredients (locally sourced whenever possible): Water, Extra Virgin Olive Oil, Coconut Oil, Zinc Oxide, Vitamin E Oil.

How to Use:
Our sunscreen is a simple formula with no extra chemicals or fragrances added. Since we eschew shelf stabilizers, homogenizers and other endocrine disrupting chemicals, some separation may eventually occur in a natural lotion such as this one. If this happens to you, simple shake vigorously to re-emulsify. Voila!

There is a best by date on this product, please do not use after that date, as oils can go rancid and the formula can get less effective over time.

Safe, natural suncreens must be reapplied after getting wet, overly sweaty, or after 4 hours in the sun. Any suncreen that claims it is waterproof, a higher SPF, or lasts longer is using something fishy! Caveat Emptor!

Apply topically where skin is exposed.

We work with local growers to source for our formulas. This not only supports the local economy, but allows our herbs to be the most potent/fresh and reduces reliance upon fossil fuels. We prefer herbs that will grow here to herbs from the Amazon rainforest or African savannas. Oftentimes, those herbs when discovered by Americans are taken in an unsustainable way and local people do not have access to their native medicines any longer. Bioregional herbalism is where it's at!
