These wildflowers are the same beautiful shape and form as the common California Poppy but bloom with a pleasant ivory blossom. A native cool-weather perennial flower, Ivory Castle California Poppy grows in open areas, hillsides, and along roadsides throughout the western United States. Upon maturity, this plant reaches a height of 12-16" with bluish green fern-like leaves and pale yellow cup-shaped flowers. In addition to attracting bees and butterflies, this plant is also resistant to deer, tolerates drought, is edible and medicinal, self-sows, and is great as a cut flower!

Planting Instructions:
Sow California poppy seeds in early spring, planting the seed 1/4" below the surface of the soil; keep the soil lightly moist until germination, which should occur in 2-3 weeks at a soil temperature of 60-65 degrees. In USDA Zones 7 and warmer, bulk poppy seeds can be fall planted. Poppies do not transplant well, and must be planted while very small if started indoors. Water seedlings occasionally, but decrease watering as the plants mature; poppies tolerate drought well and will only need watering in periods of extreme dryness. This plant tolerates most soils that drain well, as well as adapting to seaside conditions. This plant does not need rich soil, and actually blooms best in poor soil. Pinch off faded blossoms for the most prolific blooming.

We post basic dosage guidelines, but keep in mind if you have more body mass or a faster metabolism than the average bear, you may need to take a larger dose than indicated. If there are hard-and-fast limitations on how often you can take the product, it will be listed on the package. Most can be used up to six times daily without problems (but we doubt that you would need to do that).
Remember, there are no "magic bullets" in life, and any product (herbal, pharmaceutical, or otherwise) claiming 100% success without knowing you, your constitution, and your lifestyle is lying and trying to get into your wallet. Often, herbalists (and MDs) need to try several products before we find the one that works for your unique biochemistry.
